Planning Your Journey
When researching the interview you will have established where the interview is due to take place. You should also have made a decision about how you intend to travel and what time you will need to set off. Make sure to bring any instructions that the company has sent you on how to find the office or building, together with any other maps or directions that may be helpful.
If you are driving, make sure that your car is relatively clean and tidy; you never know who might see it. You should also ensure that you have plenty of change to pay for car parking meters.
No matter what form of transport you take, plan to arrive about an hour in advance of your interview time; you may encounter delays that are completely out of your control.
Even though you might arrive at the site an hour in advance, do not announce your arrival to the receptionist until 5 or 10 minutes before your interview is due to start. Take this time to review your interview responses and to freshen up and check your appearance. If you have been delayed for any reason or think you might be late, make sure that you telephone ahead to let the interviewer know.
